Review by hotel critic
Nestled within Eco Park in Kolkata, Taj Taal Kutir offers a unique escape from the bustling city. As a mountaineer, I often seek tranquility, and this hotel provided a peaceful retreat. The decor, a nod to historic Kolkata, adds a sense of charm. During my staycation, I enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool, perfect for a leisurely dip or lounging under the sun. The spa services were a delightful addition; the full body massage left me feeling rejuvenated after my recent treks. While the location is an oasis amidst the chaos, the service had its hiccups. Breakfast was delayed, leading to a rushed meal, and I overheard a guest mention an unfortunate incident with their extra bedding. the restaurant's innovative à la carte menu minimized food wastage, reflecting their commitment to sustainability-a value I hold dear as an eco-tourism advocate. If you're searching for a serene getaway, Taj Taal Kutir is a solid choice, though perhaps not quite ready for larger groups. It's a place where one can unwind and enjoy a taste of leisure-a welcome contrast to the heights of the Himalayas.
